A little about me... before I capture a lot about you.


Hey friends! I'm Jessie Bailey, owner and photographer behind Midnight Mountain Photography, LLC.

I was born and raised in the tiny town of Rural Retreat, Virginia—and trust me, it lives up to its name! Growing up surrounded by the beauty of Southwest Virginia taught me to appreciate life's simple moments and the stories that make each person unique. My photography journey began when I was just 14 years old after my mom gifted me my very first camera for Christmas. From that moment on, I was hooked. Photography has never felt like a job to me—it's something I genuinely love and pursue every day. I am passionate about capturing beautiful, authentic, emotional, and real moments that tell a story and preserve memories for years to come.


While I love photographing all stages of life, weddings and seniors hold a special place in my heart. There is something incredibly meaningful about documenting a couple's love story—from engagement sessions and date-night adventures to the moment they say "I do." Wedding days are filled with so many fleeting moments, and I feel honored to preserve them through images that allow you to relive those emotions for a lifetime.

I also adore maternity, family, and creative styled sessions. Every season of life has a story worth telling, and I love being the one trusted to tell it.

When I'm not behind the camera, you'll find me at home with my sweet husband, Adam, and our beautiful baby and baby girl. Becoming a mama has been one of the greatest blessings of my life and has given me an even deeper appreciation for preserving memories. Adam is one of my biggest supporters and often joins me on sessions. He's my assistant, my cheerleader, and the guy carrying all 50 pounds of camera gear while I pretend I'm traveling light!

FAQ

Why the name Midnight Mountain Photography?

My husband, Adam, actually chose the name for the business. I wanted something unique and pertaining to our region. We live in the Blue Ridge Mountains and they're always the perfect backdrop for pictures. The term midnight is for the deep beautiful blue color of our mountains.

How would you describe your editing style?

I would describe my editing style as timeless, colorful, and emotive. I like to keep the natural undertones and enhance them. You can probably see that I am obsessed with shooting during "golden hour" and "blue hour" and like to enhance all the natural colors of the sky, clouds, and sun!


What is your dream location to photograph at?

Someday I would love to photograph an elopement in the Grand Teton, Wyoming. That's my number one goal in life! I'm obsessed with that area and the way of life there. I would also love to be able to photograph in the desert and canyons! So, if you're getting married or want a session in either of those places...HMU!

What is your goal with photography?

My goal is to capture, not only beautiful images, the emotion displayed during your session. Your session should be fun and carefree! I want you to feel beautiful and comfortable. I am much more of capturing the moment kind of person versus capturing the pose kind of person.
